Abstract: After Mori’s solution to Hartshorne conjecture, it has been apparent that a certain positivity condition of tangent bundles will impose rich geometry on the underlying space. Following the spirit of a nice work due to Höring-Liu-Shao, a lot of progress has been made on the study of the bigness and pseudo-effectiveness of smooth projective varieties. In this talk, after a review on the previous results of del Pezzo surfaces, Fano threefolds and hypersurfaces, we study the tangent bundles of smooth complete intersections and weighted hypersurfaces. This serves to complete the classification of very general del Pezzo manifolds with big or pseudo-effective tangent bundles. This is based on a joint work with Feng Shao.
