The tau-functions have been playing a very important role in the study of integrable systems. One of the known facts is that the set of all tau-functions of the KP hierarchy forms an orbit under the action of their transformation group. Therefore, formulas connecting the tau-functions can be used to establish the equivalence relations of their properties, such as Virasoro constraints, topological recursion and evolution equations. In this talk, we will first review some known formulas regarding the connections among the Kontsevich-Witten, Hurwitz and Hodge tau-functions, and then discuss possible extensions to other tau-functions.
